Razer decided to split the Tarantula in two different models: a basic version without the OLED display but including all other Tarantula features as free programmable and customizable buttons and onboard memory called Synapse techology for storing profiles onboard. The keyboard also will allow to press more than three buttons at once. Razer calls this Anti-Ghosting capability. Also included is a key removal tool that allows users to replace buttons with special keys for games and applications. The basic version will be available in April for around $99 .
The advanced version will be released later this year, including the large colour OLED and will cost about 300$. During the WCG in November, Razer also announced that they will release a software developement kit for the Tarantula, so that gamers can program their own software for the keyboard.
