«

Ok, so, I got my mouse Wednesday and i'm still stuck on v1.0! Driver and Firmware, I have tried to update to v2.01 and I am getting so stuck! I have followed guides but I update the FW and I get "Entering ICP mode" (i think) then mouse goes dead and it says failed about 30seconds later! I tried installing driver first aswell and that did nothing! Can I get a detailed guide please? Much appreciated.

if i update firmware mouse goes dead too for a while then if you wait you will see a screen from
Windows Xp to install it Check this:
Existing Habu Users
Download v2.01 Driver and Firmware package
Update firmware version v2.01
Uninstall existing drivers
Install v2.01 drivers
Source:http://www.razersupport.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=53
That worked For me
You must follow this order To properly install it

Maybe this wil work?
1) Open Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager
2) Under "Human Interface Devices" if the mouse is not installed properly you will probably see two entries saying "USB Human Interface Device"...
3) If you right-click on one of these and look at Properties it should say next to location "Location 0 (Habu Mouse)" (the 0 might be a different number)
4) While still in Properties click on the Driver tab, then "Update Driver"
5) Check "No, not this time" on first screen asking about using Windows Update, then click "Next"
6) Check "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)", then Next
7) Check "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install", then Next
You should see two available compatible devices - "USB Human Interface Device" and "Habu Mouse" (If "Habu Mouse" does not appear click on "Have Disk" and navigate to C:\Program Files\Razer\Habu\Driver and select habu.inf)
9) Select "Habu Mouse" and the drivers should then update properly
10) Reboot, and Razer Habu config and the firmware updater should now work

Did you install the software first? My firmware wouldn't update either (same error message as you) until I first installed the 2.01 drivers.

Sounds like you did not install the Freescale driver. When the mouse enters ICP mode it essentially another USB device that requires another driver. This is the same issue I initially ran into because this is my first Razer mouse. The Habu requires a hybrid install slightly different than the Copperhead.
Here's is how I would do it now that I know more about the mouse. Remember this is for updating the Habu with the
Habu's
firmware. If you're loading up the Copperhead software use the instructions on the Razer support site.
1.
This step is only needed if you've never updated the mouse or possibly if you switch USB
ports. You will want to have another mouse on hand at this time to simplify things as the mouse
will not function in this step.
Uninstall previous mouse drivers if installed and reboot.
Unplug the mouse. Hold the profile button located on the bottom of the mouse. While still
holding the profile button plug the mouse back in the USB port. The computer should now
recognize the mouse as a Freescale USB ICP device.
At this point the computer will ask you for the driver. Click on “Install from a list or specific location
(Advanced)” and click “Next>”.
At the next screen tick the box next to this line: “Include this location in the search:”.Browse to
the firmware folder and click“Next>”.
Next you will get the unsigned driver warning, click "Continue anyway" and then "Finish."
Unplug the mouse and then plug it back in.
2. Located in the "Firmware" folder is a file called "Update.exe", double click it to start the firmware
update process.
3. After firmware update is successful unplug the mouse and plug it back in.
4. Install mouse drivers and software located in the "Software" using "setup.exe."
5. Reboot and you should be good to go.

After I reboot after uninstalling the driver (i leave the mouse plugged in) it automatically recognizes is as "Habu Mouse" Should I unistall the software too? After it does that, I unplug it from the USB port and hold the profile button and plug it back in the mouse stays dead and nothing happens, stopping me going any further!

Hey guys,
I've followed every bit of information I can find on the web but I simply can't update to the new firmware!
*If I try going to Device Manager and try updating the drivers manually it will not allow it.
*If I try upgrading the firmware using the setup.exe with either 1.0 or 2.1 drivers installed it fails.
*Uninstalling and inserting the mouse whilst holding down the Profiles button does not bring up "Freescale USB ICP device". Instead it has a question mark symbol and says "USB Device". No drivers will work for it in this state.
*I've tried every USB port but none of them are working. All other USB devices are working fine, and this mouse works fine with 1.0 firmware (except with faults common to it).
This is driving me nuts and I've spent my entire evening trying to get it done. Can anybody please help me?
EDIT: Fix is to (from a point of no drivers installed) install Copperhead drivers, reboot, unzip Copperhead Freescale Drivers (obtained seperately on Razer website), remove mouse, replug holding down Profile button, assign Copperhead Freescale drivers, update to 2.1 firmware = succesful! Then uninstall Copperhead drivers, reboot, install 2.1 Habu drivers, and you are away!

On my laptop (sony vaio sz3xp) the habu wasn't recognized as habu but as regular hid-device. The habu-config_tool told me 'no mouse connected'. So how did I got this working when all forum tips were failing?
My desktop computer did not find difficulty in recognizing the Habu. So I used this computer (socket 754 AMD athlon 64 3200+) to flash the 2.01 firm-ware into the Habu. Then I reïnstalled the 2.01 driver on the laptop and after a reboot the Habu was finally recognized correctly.

Well after the hours upon hours following everything I could find, and having no luck - I thought it only right I post what helped me.
1) Uninstall razer software - reboot
2) Do a windows update (hardware, habu)
3) Install habu firmware, you will be asked for the Freescale driver - install from specific location and point it to the habu firmware folder. Your mouse will cease to work during this (because of this the firmware update will fail), install using keyboard. Once finished, unplug and plug the mouse back in.
4) Now install the habu firmware again, this time it will complete the process. Unplug and plug the mouse back in.
5) Install the Software and reboot.
