Hello, Today i installed windows updates and got owned by it. Blue screen of death appeared and i had to repair my computer. Anyway I'm not 100% sure but, I think it's because of the modified win32.sys file that I put in so that mouse accell would be off. can anyone confirm this? and if so what should I do? This is the security update i believe caused vista to blow up on me.

Once it restarted it was indeed that error message that appeared.
STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The initial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly with a
status of 0x00000000 (0x00000034 0x00100518).
The system has been shutdown.
they must be related because that win32 file is the only thing i've ever touched on this computer

I'm still a bit skeptical, because the installation itself failed.
If the installation failed in the first place, how could a new version of PatchGuard possibly affect the system?!
I have tried to download
the update
, but all files are missing (at least for me).
Searching for error code
800F0816
didn't reveal much either, but on
a German forum
, a person was also facing constant reboots/crashes with a different, but equally failed update.
If you have the patience, restore original
win32k.sys
, try to apply update and see if the problem persists.
Alrighty I'll get back to you later

I was searching for the x64 Version of the win32k.sys 6.0.6000.16386, but can't find a download anymore >:
*Update*
I used used another x64 version without problems - be sure to disable vsync, or the acceleration won't disappear (:

Aion,
I restored my old win32 file and got the update. The update went through with no issues. Here is my win32 file after the update, I would greatly appreciate it if you could patch this one like you did the old one
