It was interesting to go back to my old mice. I've decided to stop using the Lachesis at home for a while and go back to the Copperhead seeing as I have been going on about it so much! I'll let you know whether I have rose-tinted memories or if I still like it. The sensor does feel more stable than the Lachesis, as if it is having to deal with less jitter. Then again, perhaps it's unfair comparing the Lachesis on nearly 4000dpi with the Copperhead's native resolution of 2000dpi. Or, perhaps not. Anyway, I will come back with a conclusion at some point.
The Copperhead's side buttons are still a pain in the arse to reach. In fact, I think that the Lachesis has the most usable selection of other buttons on any mouse that I have tried. I liked the placement of the Boomslang buttons on the original mice, but on the new version of the Boomslang they are too easy to press and the mouse is heavier, meaning accidental presses when you lift the mouse are frequent. Plus, the Boomslang has just 5 buttons whereas the Lachesis has 9 (!).
The Lachesis' shape has definitely grown on me; I really like it. Let's see how I find it after some time with the Copperhead. The Copperhead's rails are definitely odd. They make the mouse feel very wide. I still rather like them though. The Diamondback feels much better suited for fingertip/claw grip than the Copperhead because it is narrower, shorter and lower. I think that the Diamondback feels more conventional.
The Death Adder I cannot comment on too much, being a left-hander, however it does feel lovely in my right hand. I can quite easily understand why people have raved about it having the best side buttons that they have ever used. The feel as if they are in just the right place for my thumb and have a wonderful tactile response.
All of these mice have excellent wheels, but I think that the Lachesis' wheel is marginally better than the others. I'm not sure what the DB 3G will be like, but I suspect it will be like the Lachesis. The DA seems to have a slightly larger wheel than the others.
The DA on the Destructor confused me a bit. I initially suffered from the same annoying tracking that I get with my BS:CE on a func 1030 pad - an issue where it won't accurately track "per-pixel", a bit like the "jitter correction" in the original Diamondbacks (for those who remember this!). I was about to rant about it when I retested - twice - and it had apparently "healed"

And I've just checked again and it's fine. I'll be bringing the BS:CE home from my workplace to test with the Destructor. I hope it works because I'm really keen to try the Salmosa - another mouse with the same sensor, apparently.
Anyway, I hope that these insights are at least interesting to others. I still love seeing peoples reactions when I tell them that I post on a "mouse forum"
