So hi all^^
well i'm sure i'm going to buy a razer but since i really cant make up my mind, and its hard to choose a mouse, i had the idea to post something here. Maybe you guys could help me because you probably have some experience with Razer.
I was thinking about a Lachesis, DeathAdder or Salmosa, i like the boomslang CE alot too, but its a bit expensive if you compare it with other mouses that have like the same specs but are half priced.
Other information i play a lot of FPS games, like Cs:s,  and sometimes i play a MMORPG, but i would rather want a mouse thats good for FPS, im a mid sense user and now i use a little mouse, palm finger grip mix ^^ because its smal, but i normally use palm, but i can also play with palm grip, just depends on the mouse, Everyone says the DA is a very good mouse but i think its a bit high? not?
but well
thx allready hope to get some advice

I'd actually recommend the Habu over those.

Kind of like the DeathAdder, but it's got two more buttons, and synapse memory, and it's basically the same price and shape, with better build quality.

The laser sensor is little bit worse than the DA's 3G infared...but it's not noticeable at all.

So I'd go with the Habu.

All 7 buttons are fully programmable as well.

I noticed the difference in tracking fairly easily on my QcK after using my Habu for over a year and a half, but it doesn't seem to be much of an issue else where. Keep in mind that the Habu's sensor isn't centered, so it will feel a teensy bit different from most mice, but not enough to be a big deal, something that's easily adaptable.

I love the shape of the Habu and the DA, but the Habu definitely has the extra buttons nicely done.

There was two reasons why I switched to the DA from the Habu, and that was the centered and better tracking 3G (except the damn straight line problem that they refuse to fix. and the grip of the Habu was utter crap when you get sweaty. I guess I had worn it smooth on the sides from use or something, but that was never once an issue with my WMO1.1, or the DA so far.

There's a Mouse Guide on the Razerzone website  Grin

I'd recommend the Deathadder.

My big recommendation is the DeathAdder. An awesome mouse with a great shape, great sensor and a good price. I'm a proud owner of it, and I definitely love it. If you are a palm gripper (you rest your whole hand on the mouse and move it with your palm), then this is the mouse for you. I can recommend buying a cloth pad for it, because the teflon feet of the mouse are somehow really thin and they will wear off relatively fast if you are using it on a hard mousepad.

As for the other two mice you are considering - from personal experience i can tell you to stay as far as possible from the Lachesis. I found it extremely unaccurate in the tracking, there were skipping problems and it have uncomfortable shape. And when you add the high price to all this, it equals that the mouse is a bad choice.

As of the Salmosa - I can't say from personal experience, but the mouse is bloody small! Its made only for the finger-grip players (controlling the mouse with your finger tips), if you are not that type of player you might find the mouse really unsatisfactory.

Thx for all the replies allready!! i checked the razer guide, but i saw that i use a claw grip and a palm grip, is it possible to use a claw grip with the DA? and then i alsow saw the DB 3G, but the polling rate is only 125:S?? is this not a bit low?
you all say the lachesis isnt that good, so i will step away from that one, now my choice is between DA and DB3G.

hmm lol, its only becoming more difficult to choose xD but i still have some questions:S why is the Habu more expensive then the DA, ok it maybe has 2 more buttons but is that all? and its like double the price of a Db3G while the DB has an 3g laser mouse, but maybe there is a good reason for it.
And now i also heared something about a G5 2007 version, but not sure of that though.
Could someone give some more information?
thx very much allready for all the fast replies but i'm very bad in making choices^^

The DB 3G has the same senser as the DA, so the only thing between them is the number of buttons (7 for the DB, 5 for the DA), the shape and the button placement.  If you like a right handed mouse then most people I know way prefer the thumb buttons on the DA (I'm a left hander).  The DB is a great little agile mouse, so less well suited to the claw grip than the DA, I'd say.

I don't know about the Salmosa yet, but I love the idea - small, symmetrical and hard switches for resolution and polling.  Only three buttons plus the wheel, but I don't mind that too much, especially not for FPS where I usually only use three buttons anyway!

Don't buy from Razer's store.

Everything is extra expensive there.

You want to buy from a cheap website, like Amazon (which gives you free shipping most of the time) or newegg.

Here's a $42 Habu, with free shipping.
http://www.amazon.com/Mic...rd_r=0JNRCBQ0MQTSEP2FYWTJ

I use a fingertip/palm grip on my Habu.
But it comes with switchable side panels so you can use a claw grip with it.

KEEP IN MIND THAT RAZER'S SITE WILL NOT RECOMMEND THE HABU!!!
They will only recommend 100% razer mice, and not 50% razer mice.
They won't recommend the Habu, no matter what your preferences are.

If it really comes down to it between the DA, and the DB3G...I'd say the Diamondback 3G is the much better deal.

You still get 7 buttons, though the 2 extra are pretty hard to press...they do make on the fly sensitivity possible without the sacrifice of a button.
Polling rate makes no discernable difference at all.
But, if it really means something to you, there's a tool posted in the Diamondback 3G section that will let you select what hz you want the mouse to report at.

Even 1000 hz, though it won't average out at 1000hz, it will hit 1000hz occasionally.
It stays in the 900hz range.
And can do 500hz fine, which is what all the Sidewinder gaming mice come with.

I'd say every time I buy someone a gaming mouse, it always comes down to the Habu, G5, or the Diamondback 3G.

My wife has a Diamondback 3G, and she loves it.
I've owned all the mice, and personally I'd say the Diamondback 3G is Razer's best 100% Razer mouse.
And it's the mouse I'd take if I couldn't use a Habu.

I've had the C&C 3 G5 (G5 2007) and it was pretty good.
Cons on that mouse were a very hard to press middle click (scroll wheel button) and that the scroll wheel is very loud and cracky sounding.

All of Razer's and MS's mice have silent, or close to silent scroll wheels.
Habu and DB3G have silent, very accurate scroll wheels.

DA and G5 have semi accurate scroll wheels.

Another one of G5's cons is button customization.
Unlike Razer mice, G5 doesn't let you assign macro's, or whatever you want to it's buttons.
It's true, you can HACK the G5's drivers with uberOptions, so that's an option.
G5 performs well, and has a total of 9 programmable buttons thanks to it's tilt wheel.

I assigned RTS camera control to the tilt wheel, and it was a dream.
Normally you have to hold down middle click, and move the mouse.
With the tilt wheel, it was a breeze though. Like it was natural.

However other than that, I never ever used the tilt wheel.
And it was a pain to program it to do that.
The G5's drivers and the middle click and loud annoying scroll wheel are definitely it's biggest cons.

Here's some cheap links for you.

The Habu. $42.50 with free shipping

Diamondback 3G, 40.96 with free shipping.

C&C 3 G5, 48.84, free shipping.
http://www.amazon.com/Log...qid=1223220302&sr=1-6

DeathAdder, $51.14 with free shipping.

And lastly, an Intellimouse Explorer 3.0, the apparent ex-legend of a gaming mouse.
$36.02, free shipping of course.

Thx for so much replies PimpUigi, Hopkins and all!! its really helpfull!
not im stuck down with 2 choices, the habu and the DB 3G, i live in Belgium, so the links you gave me would not really work because the shipping cost would be so much, and here a Habu cost like 60 euro and a DB 3G cost like 37 euro. I would really want to buy them both xD but that would be to much, so i have to choose 1, and im also looking for a good mouse mat with, rather not to expensive. Do you also have experience with that? which one fits the Habu or DB 3G? and then ive read something about hyperglides?:S whats this? and is it necessary?
thx all!

Hyperglides are top quality teflon mouse feet.

There are many companies that make top quality teflon mouse feet, so you don't have to actually get hyperglides, but replacment teflon feet.

It's not really necessary to get top quality teflon feet unless you have a metal or glass mouse pad.
Otherwise, any kind of teflon feet will do.
There's no real way to tell if you're getting top quality teflon feet or not from a company, but most replacement feet are top quality teflon.

I've gotten replacment feet from corepad, hyperglide, everglide, xraypad, and SteelSeries.

Steel Series were the only ones that weren't top quality teflon feet, but they were still better than the ones that came with the mouse.

In my opinion, rough plastic pads are the best.

Like the rough side of the Steelpad 4D, or the Destructor.

I've reviewed a lot of mousepads, and it seems like all cloth pads give negative acceleration, they slow your mouse pointer down.

Smooth plastic and hard pads aren't as accurate, because there's less texture, and it's harder to stop the mouse, or move it precisely.

Even though I prefer metal, smooth pads, I recommend rough plastic pads because they're like the best of both worlds.

They give the great tracking performance of hard pads, with the accuracy and comfort of cloth pads.

Generally you don't need replacement feet unless you're using a glass or metal pad.
They wear feet down fast, and really degrade gliding performance.

You'll need to replace feet often with a glass or metal pad, about twice a year.

No matter what pad you get though, if you get the Diamondback 3G, I should tell you that the DB3G's feet are pretty small and thin.
You should get a set of replacement feet for it, doesn't matter what model.
And put the feet wherever you feel like on the bottom of the mouse.

Personally I get G5 replacement feet for my mice, as they cover a big area.

Ultimately the mouse decision should come down to the money, or the shape (right handed vs. ambidextrous)

Habu also comes with an extra pair of it's own feet in the instruction manual.
So that's a good thing.

Here are links to two mouse pads that I feel are really good.

Steelpad 4D
http://www.steelseries.com/us/products/surfaces/4d

SteelSeries Experience I-2 (it's an icemat)
http://www.steelseries.co.../surfaces/i-2/information

The Steelpad 4D is a plastic pad, has a rough side, and a smooth side.
Has a pretty low lift off distance for most mice.

The Icemat has the lowest lift off distance for most mice, and it's a smooth glass pad.

You can also look into other pads, these are just some suggestions.

Both of these pads would fit the Habu and DB3G wonderfully.
Cloth pads won't work as well with the Habu though, they'll still work well with the DB3G.

hmmm ok thx again Smiley
i think im going to buy the DB3G, and a steelseries 4D, the new one, because there seem to be 2 versions of it, on is 0.1 cm high and the other one is 0.25 high, so im going for the last one(0.25).
so would this be a good choice? thx already all! cant wait to have this things!
and how is a razer mantis mouse mat?

The Razer mantis mouse pad has a really high lift off distance with 3G sensors, and most other sensors.

I recommend against it.

I'm glad we could help you out : )
