Heh, that depends how you define "malware"

I've yet to find a factory built PC that doesn't come loaded with crappy software that doubles the boot time and, in the long run, leads to some daft problem, without offering much benefit in return.
Roll back the system to its original state and see if the problem continues. Like someone said, the keyboard and mouse will work as normal and then you can eliminate that as the problem. Call tech support for your PC if you still have issues.
Incidentally, I have found that if I load the Copperhead drivers on my work Dell PC and then terminate them via task manager, my system blue screens about a minute later... Not on my home PCs though. (All running XP.)
