A friend of mine noticed a problem with the keyboard the other night while playing Age Of Conan and I tested it myself and I have the exact same issue

I tested this in notepad myself, if you hold down C then while holding it down hold down Z as well (so they're both held together, in notepad it'll spam C then switch to Z when you press it) then hit either 1 or 4 on the number pad it wont recognize that either number has been pressed... if however I hit any other number it'll recognize the key press and interrupt what is currently happening  (in this case the spamming of Z in notepad) and input the number instead

It appears to be a problem with the C key as this will also happen with
C and A
C and X
C and D
C and E
C and W
C and Q
C and S

this will also happen if you try it in the reverse order e.g. X and C

these keys happen to be in the anti-ghosting cluster, if you try any other combination in the cluster excluding the C it's not an issue

Here are some more outside the anti-ghosting cluster, these combinations won't allow the numpad 4 to interrupt them (numpad 1 is ok)
C and T
C and Y
C and K
C and [
C and ]

and these wont allow numpad 1 to interrupt (numpad 4 is ok)
C and K
C and L
C and J
C and ;
C and \

is anyone else able to confirm whether this is an issue as well? I emailed Tech Support (and so did my friend) and we got the usual 'generic' email of uninstall/re-install the driver, try plugging it in to another PC, change USB ports etc. I have bought the keyboard to work and tried it on various machines and have the exact same issue which leads me to believe it is a firmware/hardware issue. Tech Support have also asked me to take it back to the reseller and exchange it... but I don't see the point as it will have the same problem.

It's a nice keyboard, both in looks and to use, but this just makes me want to go back to a cheap $5 keyboard as at least it'll work properly.  Undecided

I cannot test this, but my guess is that you have just found a combination that fails with that key layout.  The only recourse would be to get a refund, but to do that you would have to make the shop understand what your problem is and that you believe it violates the description of the product.

I asked the store I bought it from and they would no longer accept it due to it being over a month since I bought it from them (regardless of reason). I emailed tech support in regards to this and they are going to RMA the keyboard for (apparently) a Tarantula.

The sad thing is this also affects the Lycosa Mirror (tested) and no doubt the Arctosa (haven't tested but it's pretty much the same keyboard), I hope it's something they can fix through an update...

You should check the law in Australia.  Some companies just offer really crap service.  The law in the UK is that is you can prove that it was faulty from the date of purchase, you can claim a refund.  Most companies have a "policy" that they will only refund in the first month, but will exchange for the rest of the year, but this is just a practice and is in no way binding for the consumer.  You have to be prepared to argue sometimes and, in theory, if they refuse the only option is to sue, which is usually not worth the hassle.  Consumer loses.  Sad, but true.

In this case you could argue that the product was misleadingly described rather than faulty - I'm not sure which would be easier.  It sounds like they're prepared to be arses about it, though.

I emailed tech support in regards to this and they are going to RMA the keyboard for (apparently) a Tarantula.

Well, if that happens then it will be awesome service from Razer, I'd say.  Good luck!

Hello All,

The Lycosa features anti-ghosting around the gaming cluster;  w,a,s and d.

If you try to push any 2 of those buttons you should be able to push a third without a problem.  (from my tests you can also push a fourth key in most instances if 2 of the keys are either w,a,s or d)

A keyboard’s circuitry  is arranged in matrixes around the keys.  Depending what 2 keys you hold down at once, the 3rd key may or may not work.  Because different keyboards often use different circuitry, the keys you can press at the same time may vary from keyboard to keyboard.

Hope this helps.
