Mamba arrived...some first photos
«

Finally got my Mamba today.
Here are some first pics, sorry they are not my best but it is dark already and I have other things to do. I will take some more, better ones, once the mouse is charged.
The shape is really great of course, we all know it, it feels a bit heavier then the average Razer but, I plugged the base, and in second the mouse was moving, I few VERY quick moves and the thing did not flinch a bit better then some corded, so it is promising, I want to take it for a good spin in UT3 soon.
The small boxes inside the base are one for battery, USB cable and one for the base.
Soon I hope I better review.

Hot damn. That's a GOOD looking mouse. How's the response time, and does it have the "straight-line" problem that the DA has?

Hi, I just got mine also (Friday morning), Loved the box it came in. This mouse feels great
But It definatly needs some Firmware ASAP, like all Razer early releases.
Im using a destructor mat with it.
I am having a lot of cursor shift
.
Sometimes ill hold it still and the pointer will jump to the left side of the screen, and somtimes it will drift 2 millimeters from where im holding it on screen real slow, so yeah I hope they get some beta FW even at this point. It does not happen too often though and hasn't done it in awhile..
Im real glad they got rid of those thin scragly wires and went with a braided one this time.
Overall this IMHO is the best razer yet.

Funny, mines track perfect, though I have not installed the software/drivers yet and maybe I won't. But none of the problems you report at all and I have used it all day yesterday and quite a few hours of gaming!
Never skipped, jumped or lost tracking at all...could it be the drivers or something with your computer? I can see where some lower specs computers having trouble to handle constant high streams of data through a USB port.
Have you tried to completely remove the driver and try the mouse again?

Well I know its not my pc (Phenom II 940 @ 3.6ghz 4870x2 quad X-fire, 790FX-M2R & 4gig of ram).
But I Haven't had it happen again all day so maybe it was my battery wasn't charged enough when I first tried it. This happend when I first hooked it up..
But yeah maybe I was jumping the gun a little. Now it's fully charged so I will know by the end of the day as im going to put it through some long gaming tests
I love this mouse

Well maybe you should edit your previous post then, you make claims that apparently are not totally accurate and you left them there for people to read, Razer has a fairly bad rep on it's own without this.

After further testing in wired mode this mouse is perfect. The wireless mode does feel near identicle to wired mode in performance, so this is the best wireless implementation I have used.
The drivers do need an update bad though. Nice interface, but performing actions like changing the polling rate or setting DPI scale take forever for the software to respond sometimes causing "This software has stoped responding" messages to appear. Just have to click wait for program to respond and it comes back eventualy. Best mouse I ever used and definatly worth the dough.

Guys, some nice comments here, plz keep them coming as I know lots of ppl are very anxious to hear about your thoughts about the Mamba. Just wondering how does the mouse work for gaming, how does it track etc? Also how about those 2 small buttons on the left main button, can you hit them easily with your index finger? What do you have them mapped too, hopefully anything you want. I'm on the fence on buying the mouse, as I've been waiting for some positive user reviews before putting down my cash, as Razer had huge problems with the Lachesis that was laser. Does it work well with the Destructor pad or cloth pads?
Thx

Get this mouse you won't regret it.. It works great on the destructor mat.
I have done about 8 hours of solid gaming on this mouse and I can say it has none of the problems the lachesis had at all. it tracks great and is more stable. easier to click on things on the desktop without accidently moving the icons.(I say this because I have a 30" monitor @ 2560x1600 res and this happend a lot with the lachesis.) I have left the DPI buttons maped at the default DPI switch.
They take a few to get used to without clicking the left mouse button while changing DPI but it really is a better place then the lachesis style DPI buttons as you don't have to move your fingers way back off the fire button to make quick DPI ajustments.
The mouse skates are even higher quality/thicker now so I don't feel the need to get hyperglides this time.
Best mouse I ever used period.

Yep, great job so far, do keep the comments coming as after the Lachesis I think many of us are on a huge "Need To Know" before we splash out on another Razer mouse.
So far the reports seem good, has anyone tried it on an Exact Mat yet?
How responsive are the side buttons and the wheel button?
All comments will be appreciated, as with any mouse what suits one may not suit another.
Bgr! I may have to raid the piggy bank again.
Damn You Razer!
